We develop career learning that moves beyond reflection – and into action.

 

This Erasmus+ project explores how students in performing arts can build the skills they need to navigate real working life – and how institutions can support this in a structured and sustainable way.

About the project

Career Learning in Performing Arts Education is an Erasmus+ project led by VICA Kompetanse.

 

The project is grounded in the Norwegian National Quality Framework for Career Guidance, and builds on a holistic understanding of career competence and career learning.

 

This includes seeing career learning as a dynamic process where insight, experience and action are connected – rather than a linear progression.

 

The project focuses on how career learning can better support students in their transition from education to work – especially in fields where careers are often uncertain, project-based and self-driven.

Why this matters

Many students in performing arts education face an uncertain transition into working life.

 

Careers are often project-based, freelance, and require a high degree of self-direction. However, structured support for developing career competence is often limited or missing.

 

This project addresses that gap by exploring how career learning can be integrated into education in a way that is both practical and sustainable.

Project activities

The project develops and tests approaches to career learning in performing arts education, grounded in the Norwegian National Quality Framework for Career Guidance.

 

We work with a holistic and practice-based approach to career learning, where learning is seen as a dynamic process rather than a fixed sequence.

 

We work closely with partner organisations to explore how career competence can be integrated into teaching and institutional practices.

 

Key activities include workshops, collaborative development processes, and testing of learning designs in real educational settings.

Norsk sammendrag

Dette er et småskalapartnerskap finansiert gjennom Erasmus+, ledet av VICA Kompetanse, med fokus på karrierelæring i utøvende kunstfag.

 

Prosjektet er forankret i det nasjonale kvalitetsrammeverket for karriereveiledning, og utforsker hvordan karrierekompetanse kan utvikles gjennom helhetlige og praksisnære læringsprosesser.

 

Målet er å styrke overgangen fra utdanning til arbeid gjennom en mer integrert tilnærming til karrierelæring.
